YARN ALONG

I hope the picture tells it all... I started a new little project: a babyhat from an old Dutch magazine. It's the Ariadne from January 1967, I'm curious how it turns out.

The book is from a Dutch autor. It's called: Dinner and tells about a real event in the Netherlands: a homeless woman was set on fire by two teenage boys who wanted to have fun...
Not a nice theme, but the book tells about the father of one of the boys. The four parents get together at dinner and speak about what their sons did.
This book is a bit special and I don't know if this is only available in the Netherlands: the format of the book is different. The edited it turned around 90 degrees: you hold the book length-wise. The pages are very thin and the book is tiny, but it's a whole book. This format is pretty popular too, but I have to get used to it I guess. I don't particularly like it so far. But I like the book!

As a parent, when atrocities like this happen, I always find myself wondering about the person's parents. How involved were they in their child's life? Did they feel they should've done something or known somehow that there was a monster lurking in their child? It's fascinating to know there's a book from this perspective.... I might even muster the discipline to read it in Dutch!

Love your knitting start, too!
